Laser protection testing rig

CIM-mes developed testing rig for assessment of different materials against high density laser radiation. The laser beam protective textile has to be tested against the transmitted heat and its optical features. The test is performed in two stages, at first to amount of heat transferred to the skin is checked using the well known Stoll-Chianta criteria. Secondly, the textile optical feature are analysed to check the amount of transferred radiation and its specularity (RTA characterisation). The protective textile specularity analysis is very important from the safety point of view as to high concentration of the reflected radiation may damage random surrounding objects and people.

The testing rig was developed within PROSYS-LASER project co-financed by European Commission and is currently a commercially available product.

Laser energy density is limited to 8kW/cm2.Operation area hast to be equipped with fire/smoke protection devices.
